“It’s hard to say goodbye…”

After more than 20 years, I’m closing the doors of my beloved webshop ‘Sophiestore’— my baby since 2002.

What started with handmade jewelry next to my job as a school nurse became a true passion project. 

I didn’t have a physical store, which made things incredibly difficult back then. Most brands refused to work with me simply because I was “just a webshop.” I had to fight for every opportunity — I was a pioneer in Belgium, when online stores were still a strange concept to many.

From selling clothes at home (yes, dragging garment racks after my nursing shifts!) to the beloved Sentido bead bracelets in recent years… I’ve done it all, solo, often packing orders in the middle of the night. It was never ‘just a shop’ — it was my heart.

But now, at almost 60, it’s time for a new chapter. You can’t do it all forever.
